I play the notes as they are written, but it is God who makes the music. ~ J. S. Bach
Each day we have the opportunity to make something magical and magnificent. As a Mom and a business owner, the routine may be the same: up early, get ready for work, get the kids off to school, go to work, come home and have dinner with the family, work on any projects then relax and prepare for another day. And many consider that a good day. Too often it’s: up late, yell at the kids because they wanted to sleep in too, throw something in the toaster or microwave that is supposed to serve as breakfast, rush out the door and pray that everyone has everything they need for the day.
However, when I am open to the possibilities, to the connections and I let God pave the way, peace reigns and music happens.
Ok, maybe it isn’t literally music, but it is harmonious with everything and everyone I encounter. There is laughter and joy. The family moments are filled with ah-ha’s and ha-ha’s. All of which set the stage for the moments and memories that make transitions smoother. Transitions like when they are grown and gone – there are no regrets.
In life as in the music referenced by Bach, as singers, both Karen and I know the thrill of having a song come to life and filled with meaning for us as performers as well as the audience. That happens when we let God be a part of the moment. It isn’t about yesterday’s successes or lessons. It isn’t about tomorrows plans. It is simply about “now”. This moment. It’s about the ability to be one with the music. As a mom, life is that way too. When we are present for ourselves, our loved ones and those we interact with on a daily basis, we find ourselves coming to the close of the day filled with peace. Peace that is evidence of a day well spent. Peace that we know in our hearts, we have done our very best. And that is a feeling to be treasured. In that moment there are no “if only’s” or “I wish I had…” There are no regrets.
May your day be filled with the music and thank you for making The Dream Believers part of your world.
